Adolescent years can by trying for anyone, socially, academically, and parentally. Eleanor Roosevelt said, “with a new day, comes new strength and new thoughts.” Research has proven that many mental illnesses present during adolescent and is not just a “normal” part of development. They can present as mood disturbances, social problems, academic problems and decline, relationship problems with parents and peers, and poor coping skills.
Early diagnosis, treatment, and management is necessary to help adolescents become productive parts and progress to the next steps/phase of their development. Adulthood!
